こんにちは。スペイン・バルセロナ出身のCinta Bazan（チンタ・バザン）です。日本には4年間住んでおり、日本がとても大好きです。現在は奈良市に住んでいますが、以前は東京で生活していました。
英語を教えることが好きなのは、ルールを覚えるだけでなく、実際に使いながら学べるところに魅力を感じているからです。生徒が間違いを恐れず、安心して質問できる環境を大切にしています。ひとりひとりのペースに寄り添いながら、少しずつ自信を育てていけるようサポートしています。Rocket English Schoolで教えられることを、とても嬉しく思っています。

What is your favourite food?
好きな食べ物は何ですか？
My favorite food is ramen. I love trying new ramen shops, and I have visited more than 40 different places this year. I have many ramen restaurants saved all over the Kansai region, and I try to go to a new one almost every week.
My favorite style of broth is toripaitan (creamy chicken broth), and in terms of presentation I usually choose tsukemen or mazesoba.
Besides ramen, I also have a sweet tooth for fluffy pancakes and matcha or strawberry flavored desserts and drinks.
好きな食べ物はラーメンです。ラーメン巡りが好きで、今年は40軒以上のお店に行きました。関西に気になるラーメン店をたくさん保存していて、ほぼ毎週新しいお店に行くようにしています。
好きなスープは鶏白湯で、提供形式はつけ麺か混ぜそばを選ぶことが多いです。ラーメン以外では甘党なので、ふわふわのパンケーキや、抹茶やいちご味のデザート・ドリンクも好きです。
What are your hobbies and interests?
趣味や関心事は何ですか？
My main hobbies are exploring new ramen restaurants and running. I like long-distance running because it gives me time to think and unwind, even if I am not the quickest runner. In my free time, I also enjoy watching American TV dramas, especially Grey’s Anatomy and How to Get Away with Murder.
主な趣味は、新しいラーメン店を巡ることとランニングです。特に長距離走が好きで、速いランナーではありませんが、気分転換したりできる時間になるところが気に入っています。
また、自由時間にはアメリカのドラマを見るのも好きで、特に Grey’s Anatomy と How to Get Away with Murder が好きです。
Why did you come to Japan?
なぜ日本に来たのですか？
The short answer is that I came to Japan to obtain my university degree. However, the real reason is deeper than that. I have been fascinated by Japanese culture since I was a child, and I had always imagined myself living in Japan. When I began my undergraduate studies, I chose to study in Japan with the intention of building my future here. Even after living here for several years, I still cannot imagine myself living anywhere else.
一言で言えば、大学のために来たと言えます。しかし、本当の理由はそれだけではありません。
子どもの頃から日本の文化にひかられていて、いつか日本に住む夢がありました。大学に進学する際、正規生として日本に留学することにし、日本に永住するつもりで来日しました。日本に数年間住んだ今でも、自分が日本以外の場所に住む姿は想像できません。
What are the best things about living in Japan?
日本に住んでいて良かったことは何ですか？
The opportunities available for young people. Compared to my country, where younger generations often struggle with employment and housing, I have been pleasantly surprised by the many opportunities and positive experiences I have had here, even as a foreigner. It is a place where I genuinely feel optimistic about the future.
On a more personal level, most of my friends now live here, and Japan is also a place where I can fully enjoy my hobbies. Having a ramen shop on almost every street is something that undoubtedly makes living here especially enjoyable for a ramen lover like me.
若い世代に多くのチャンスがあることです。私の母国では、若い世代が仕事や住まいの面で苦労することが多いのですが、日本では外国人である私にとっても、多くの機会や前向きな経験に恵まれてきました。そのため、日本は将来に対して心から前向きな気持ちを持てる場所だと感じています。
また、個人的な面でも、今では親しい友人の多くが日本に住んでおり、日本は自分の趣味を思いきり楽しめる場所でもあります。ほぼどの通りにもラーメン屋さんがあることは、ラーメン好きの私にとって、日本での生活をより一層楽しいものにしてくれています。
Why do you like teaching English?
なぜ英語を教えるのが好きなのですか？
I enjoy teaching English because I believe language learning offers much more flexibility and creativity in how it can be taught compared to many other subjects. Unlike subjects that rely mainly on memorization, learning a language requires exposure to different situations. This allows us teachers to design varied lessons that go beyond textbooks, I find this very exciting because every class can be different, and I can adapt my teaching to students’ interests and needs.
英語を教えるのが好きな理由は、語学学習には他の多くの科目に比べて、教え方により柔軟性や創造性があると思うからです。暗記に頼ることが多い科目とは違い、言語の習得にはさまざまな場面への接触が必要になります。
そのため、教科書だけにとらわれない多様な授業を考えられる点がとても魅力的です。毎回の授業が違ったものになり得ますし、生徒の興味やニーズに合わせて教え方を工夫できるところにやりがいを感じています。
What parts of your personality help you to teach well?
あなたの性格のどのような部分が、上手に教えるのに役立っていますか？
I think my patience and empathy help me to teach well. I do not mind repeating explanations, because I know that everyone learns at a different pace. I sometimes forget things myself, so I can really understand how students feel when they are confused or unsure. I believe that making mistakes is a natural part of learning, and the classroom is a safe space to ask questions and review as much as needed.
I would also say I’m responsible and I have a lot of discipline; two characteristics that are quite helpful when it comes to teaching and learning.
私の忍耐力と共感力が、上手に教えるのに役立っていると思います。私は説明を繰り返すことを苦にしません。なぜなら、人によって学ぶペースが違うことを理解しているからです。
また、私自身も忘れてしまうことが多いので、生徒が混乱したり不安に感じたりする気持ちをよく理解できます。間違いを犯すことは学びの自然な一部だと思っていて、教室は質問したり、必要なだけ復習したりできる安心できる場所であるべきだと考えています。
What have been some of the most interesting experiences you have had teaching children in Japan?
日本で子供たちに教えた経験の中で、最も興味深かったことは何ですか？
Most of my teaching experience in Japan has been with junior high school students, where the lessons were mainly focused on English grammar and exam preparation.
What I found most interesting was seeing how students gradually made sense of difficult grammar points, and how different explanations or examples could suddenly make things “click” for them.
It was also interesting to see how, as they grew older, many students began to realize the importance of English for their future studies and careers, which gradually changed their attitude toward the subject.
I’ve also enjoyed learning about Japanese culture from the kids. They’ve taught me a lot about seasonal events, holidays, music, and comics so I feel extremely lucky to be able to work here and get to know more about Japan.
日本での指導経験は主に中学生を対象としたもので、授業は主に英語の文法や受験対策が中心でした。
その中で最も興味深かったのは、生徒たちが難しい文法を少しずつ理解していく様子を見ることでした。別の説明や例を使うことで、急に「分かった！」と腑に落ちる瞬間があるのが印象的でした。
また、学年が上がるにつれて、多くの生徒が英語が将来の進学やキャリアにとって重要であることに気づき始め、その結果、英語に対する姿勢が少しずつ変わっていく様子を見ることも興味深かったです。
また、日本の子どもたちから文化について教えてもらうことも多く、季節の行事や祝日、音楽、漫画など、たくさんのことを学ばせてもらっています。こうして日本のことをもっと知ることができて、本当に恵まれていると感じています。
What are some of the things that make Rocket English School stand out from other English schools?
ロケットイングリッシュスクールが他の英会話スクールと一線を画している点は何ですか？
For me what makes Rocket English School stand out is its approach to learning in a more fun and practical way, using English as a tool rather than just a set of rules to memorize. It is important that children get used to using English from an early age, not just understanding it. I think kids who have this opportunity are very fortunate and will have great opportunities in the future.
Rocket English School also has a lot of resources such as flashcards, games, cards, and various learning materials that make the experience of studying easy and smooth. It’s definitely the type of place where I’d want to learn English if I were a kid again!
私にとってロケットイングリッシュスクールが他と際立っている点は、「楽しく実践的に学ぶ」というアプローチで、英語を単なる暗記すべきルールではなく、使うためのツールとして捉えているところです。
子どもたちが英語を「理解する」だけでなく、小さい頃から実際に使うことに慣れていくことが大切だと思います。このような環境で学べる子どもたちはとても恵まれていて、将来大きな可能性が広がると思います。
