こんにちは！クリスティナ・ベレン・ゴンザレスと申します。30歳で、アルゼンチンのブエノスアイレス出身です。
これまで数年間、英語の先生として子ども、ティーンエイジャー、大人まで幅広い年齢層の方々に教えてきました。
もともと語学を学ぶことが大好きで、日本語をもっと上達させたいと思い、日本に来ました。
現在は大阪に住んでいて、とても嬉しく思っています。大阪は本当に美しい街ですね！😊

What is your favourite food?
好きな食べ物は何ですか？
My favourite food is ramen so I usually go to ‘Vegan Ramen by Playpen Friends’ which serves my favourite ramen here in Osaka. It’s close to Yotsubashi Metro Station.
Another restaurant that I love is in Gion, Kyoto. This one’s called ‘Gion Soy Milk Ramen Uno Yokiko’ and it has one of the most delicious ramen I’ve ever tried.
私はラーメンが大好きで、よく大阪の「Vegan Ramen by Playpen Friends」というお店に行きます。四ツ橋駅の近くにあって、私のお気に入りのラーメンを出してくれます。
もう一つお気に入りのお店は、京都の祇園にあります。店名は「祇をん 豆乳らーめん うのよきこ」で、今まで食べた中でも特に美味しいラーメンの一つです。
What are your hobbies and interests?
趣味や関心事は何ですか？
I like reading novels and comics, listening to music, journaling, and riding my bike. I generally read books in English and Spanish, but now I’m trying to read stories in Japanese and it feels amazing to understand more kanji.I love watching and making films, and also photography, theatre and traveling.
小説や漫画を読むこと、音楽を聴くこと、日記を書くこと、自転車に乗ることが好きです。普段は英語やスペイン語の本を読むことが多いですが、最近は日本語の物語にも挑戦していて、漢字が少しずつ分かるようになってきたことがとても嬉しいです。
Why did you come to Japan?
なぜ日本に来たのですか？
I came to Japan because I wanted to keep on learning the language. When I was 20, I started watching anime and I fell in love with it. At the beginning, my connection to Japan was only through anime but little by little, I started to be more interested in Japanese culture, food, and history. I started taking Japanese classes when I was in Argentina and now I’m studying every day to improve my Japanese! 😄
日本語の勉強を続けたかったからです。20歳のときにアニメを見始めて、その世界にすぐ夢中になりました。最初はアニメを通して日本に興味を持ちましたが、少しずつ日本の文化や食べ物、歴史にも関心を持つようになりました。アルゼンチンで日本語の授業を受け始めて、今は毎日勉強を続けています！😄
What are the best things about living in Japan?
日本に住んでいて良かったことは何ですか？
I like a lot of things about living in Japan. For example, I love how safe and quiet most places are. The traffic here is surprisingly calm, so riding my bike (one of my favourite things to do) feels really easy and relaxing. I enjoy visiting new places and going there by train. I can’t believe how many trains there are here in Japan! It’s incredible.
日本での生活には、好きなことがたくさんあります。例えば、ほとんどの場所がとても安全で静かなところが魅力的です。交通も驚くほど落ち着いていて、自転車に乗るのが大好きな私にとっては、とても快適でリラックスできます。
新しい場所を訪れるのも好きで、電車で出かけるのが楽しみの一つです。日本には本当にたくさんの電車があって、毎回びっくりしています！
Why do you like teaching English?
なぜ英語を教えるのが好きなのですか？
I love teaching English because I think this language helps people connect to each other and have more opportunities in life. It opens a world of possibilities and it’s extremely useful when travelling or meeting new people. I love the idea of guiding, helping my students, and seeing how much progress they make as they acquire new knowledge.
英語は、人と人をつなげたり、人生においてさまざまなチャンスを広げてくれる素晴らしい言語だと思っています。旅行のときや新しい人と出会うときにもとても役立ちます。
生徒のサポートをしながら成長を見守れることに、大きなやりがいを感じています。
What parts of your personality help you to teach well?
あなたの性格のどのような部分が、上手に教えるのに役立っていますか？
I am someone who feels really comfortable in social situations so that helps me a lot when it comes to having a great relationship with my students. I always want my students to have a good time while they are learning, so it’s more important for me that we get along well.
I would also say I’m responsible and I have a lot of discipline; two characteristics that are quite helpful when it comes to teaching and learning.
私は人と話すのが得意で、初対面の方とも自然に接することができます。そのため、生徒との良い関係づくりにも自信があります。生徒にとって楽しい時間になるよう、まずはお互いの信頼関係を大切にしています。
また、責任感が強く、自分に対してもきちんとしたルールを持って行動するタイプなので、教える上でも学ぶ上でもそれが大きな力になっていると思います。
What have been some of the most interesting experiences you have had teaching children in Japan?
日本で子供たちに教えた経験の中で、最も興味深かったことは何ですか？
Something really interesting I’ve noticed here is that teaching children in Japan and in Argentina is quite similar. Children all around the world love learning through songs, games, and gestures. It’s great to see how fast they can learn even though English and Japanese are so different from each other.
I’ve also enjoyed learning about Japanese culture from the kids. They’ve taught me a lot about seasonal events, holidays, music, and comics so I feel extremely lucky to be able to work here and get to know more about Japan.
面白いことに、日本とアルゼンチンでの子どもの学び方には共通点が多いと感じています。どこに住んでいても、子どもたちは歌やゲーム、ジェスチャーを使った学びが大好きなんですね。英語と日本語はとても違う言語なのに、子どもたちは驚くほど早く習得していきます。
また、日本の子どもたちから文化について教えてもらうことも多く、季節の行事や祝日、音楽、漫画など、たくさんのことを学ばせてもらっています。こうして日本のことをもっと知ることができて、本当に恵まれていると感じています。
What are some of the things that make Rocket English School stand out from other English schools?
ロケットイングリッシュスクールが他の英会話スクールと一線を画している点は何ですか？
I think Rocket English School stands out from other English schools because it shows how fun English can be! Learning a new language doesn’t have to be a dreadful experience. Instead, here children can come and have fun while they are speaking, reading, singing and writing in English, so they actually enjoy the idea of learning.
Rocket English School also has a lot of resources such as flashcards, games, cards, and various learning materials that make the experience of studying easy and smooth. It’s definitely the type of place where I’d want to learn English if I were a kid again!
Rocket English School は、英語を「楽しいもの」として伝えてくれる学校だと思います。新しい言語を学ぶのは大変そうに思われがちですが、ここでは子どもたちが歌ったり、話したり、読んだり、書いたりしながら自然に英語を楽しめる環境が整っています。
また、フラッシュカードやゲーム、カード教材など、さまざまな学習ツールが用意されていて、子どもたちがスムーズに学べるよう工夫されています。もし私がまた子どもに戻れるなら、ここで英語を学びたいと思うような素敵な学校です！
